Apple: FREE Camp for Kids!

Apple stores are hosting FREE Apple Camp for kids ages 8-12 throughout this summer! This FREE camp lasts 1 1/2 hours per day on 3 separate days and is available at Apple Retail Stores throughout the country.

Space is limited and workshops fill up quickly so sign your kids up now. Just click here to find an Apple Camp and then select the week you would like to sign up for (each child is limited to no more than one Apple Camp workshop). Note that a parent must stay with child(ren) during Apple Camp.

FREE 2-Day Camp 9-1-1 for Children ages 8-12

Huron Valley Ambulance is offering a FREE 2-day camp to kids ages 8-12 that are interested in learning about emergency services and safety. The program is taught by local EMTs and teaches kids how to perform lifesaving skills on injured victims, including CPR! Programming runs 9 am – 4:30 pm for each of the two days.

Locations of the day-camp are held throughout Washtenaw County all summer long, so there are many opportunities to sign your kid(s) up. For more information on the camp or service provided by Huron Valley Ambulance, visit the HVA website. These fill up quickly so don’t wait to register! Registration for Washtenaw County Summer Sports Camps is now open! Summer Sports Camps are for kids ages 8-15 and offers Football, Girls and Boys Basketball, Track, Wrestling, Golf, Tennis, and Cheerleading. These camps are offered June 23rd through August 4th and lunch is provided. These camps are FREE and fill up fast so register soon!

Washtenaw County Summer Sports Camps provide children structured recreational activities and are offered each summer through the Juvenile Division of the Washtenaw County Trial Court. The Trial Court is partnering with the University of Michigan, Washtenaw Community College and Ypsilanti Community Schools to bring your child this wonderful opportunity. To register, a parent or guardian can print out and complete the Summer Sports Camp Registration Form and send it back to:

Detroit Metro Parent is hosting a FREE Camp Expo featuring 40 camps in Southeast Michigan on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Michigan Science Center from noon to 3:30 pm. At the Expo, you’ll have the change to meet face-to-face with camp directors from a variety of different camps and summer programs for kids of all ages – preschoolers through teens. Take your kids for hands on fun courtesy of the exhibiting camps and then enjoy a FREE day of exploration at the Michigan Science CenterRegister to attend Camp Expo AND attend the event and you could win $500 toward summer tuition at the exhibiting camp of your choice.

I’ve attended the Camp Expo many times in the past and honestly one of the best parts is getting into the hosting venue for FREE! It’s been at the Detroit Institute of Art (DIA) in the past as well as the Cranbrook Institute of Arts. We’re really excited to get to chance to explore the Michigan Science Center for FREE after the Expo as admission is usually $13 for adults and $10 for children (ages 2-12). The Michigan Science Center is located at 5020 John R St. in Detroit.

FREE 3-Day Apple Camp for Kids!

Apple stores are hosting a FREE Apple Camp for kids ages 8-12 this summer! Apple Camp lasts 1 & 1/2 hours per day on 3 separate days and is available at Apple Retail Stores throughout the country – including the Apple Store in Briarwood Mall!

At Apple Camp, kids will learn how to shoot their own footage, create an original song in GarageBand on an iPad, and put it all together in iMovie on a Mac. This FREE workshop, held at Apple Retail Stores, spans three days and ends with campers debuting their masterpieces at the Apple Camp Film Festival.

Just select your state and store and you will then be able to select the week you would like to sign up for. Note that a parent must stay with the child(ren) during Apple Camp.

Fine Print: All campers under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the Apple Camp workshop. Campers must also bring along a signed Camp Permission Statement (PDF) and a copy of their registration confirmation to attend.
